Lovers of reading and culture are invited to discover the new edition of “Dour se Livre”, organized this year at the Athéna center. The meeting is set for November 9 and 10, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Free entry for all curious and passionate people!
First meetings
On site, you will be able to meet around forty authors, exploring various genres such as thriller, fantasy, romance and even children’s literature. Visitors will have the opportunity to leave with new signed items. “The show is becoming popular. As a result, many authors take the opportunity to present their new releases, their new books and novels,” explains Vincent Vallée, author himself and organizer of the event with the Dour cultural center and library.
After New York, Osaka and Toronto, Hornuois artist Michaël Mund is exhibiting in Mons!
Interactive program
The weekend will be punctuated with activities for all ages. The “writer’s treasure hunt” is intended for young explorers of words aged 8 and over. You will also be able to attend Boraine writing and conversation workshops. Students from the Athénée Royal will declaim their creations in a lively slam moment.
In the lounge, you can also take part in reading sessions. A reading will also be devoted to the work of Yvon Givert, a little-known Borain author. Among the other key activities, “book dating”. It will allow you to discover five authors from the show in literary speed-dating mode. A “literary wrestling”, a crazy show of literary improvisation, will liven up the atmosphere with improvised verbal jousts. “There will also be a typewriter portrait,” explains Vincent Vallée. You can go meet her: with her instinct and the few words you say to her, Fidéline will create a little poetic text typed on a typewriter. »
Seven friends from Mons-Borinage created their own publishing house with a strong Borain character: “The idea is to release two books per year”
Book hunt
All weekend, visitors will be able to take part in a literary quiz. The results will be announced on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. And like other years, a book hunt is planned, another fun activity aimed at young and old. Concretely, packaged works will be hidden on the site. It’s up to you to dig around and find them!
Also note that you can admire the colorful works of Michaël Mund. He will present his exhibition “Alice in Wonderland”.
