In his latest book, The Lake of Nowhere, Peter From tells the story of a brother and sister, twins, who lost contact with their father. But here he resurfaces and suggests they go canoeing on the Canadian lakes.

Unfortunately, the hoped-for reunion is tarnished by tensions. The promised adventure is poorly prepared, the expedition could be dangerous. This is the whole universe of Pete From, an ode to the great outdoors, with a beautiful, powerful but potentially threatening nature. Men and women who live in the middle of this nature.

Since Henry David Thoreau, there have been many followers of nature writing. The public appreciates this non-urban setting with sometimes taciturn characters who hide a secret.

Indian Creek was Pete Fromm's first book translated into French. Necessarily autobiographical, this text relates his solitary winter in the Rockies. He was 20 years old at the time and he accepted a job in the mountains of Idaho, at Indian Creek to monitor the reestablishment of salmon eggs in the river. An unforgettable moment for him.

His book has become a classic. Today this native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is 66 years old. In these works, such as Life under construction or My most ardent desireyoung couples make perfect love in the middle of nowhere, still in this vast nature when destiny comes to shake up their peace and quiet.

Pete Fromm will be at Fnac in (Finistère) Friday November 8, 2024 at 5 p.m. to meet his audience and sign his works. His are published in by Gallmeister.
