Var Book Festival : Make way for the thriller
This is the weekend to absolutely mark in the diary for all literature lovers! For over 20 years, the Department of Var invites readers and authors to meet for 3 days of literary festivities. In partnership with 14 local bookstores and placed, this year, under the aegis of one of the masters of thrill – Bernard Minier -, this edition already announces more than 400 writers and no less than 150 meetings. On the program: general literature, children's literature, comics without forgetting thrillers and thrillers with the presence ofOlivier Descosse (The Devil's Circus published by XO Éditions and winner of the 2024 Prix de l’Évêché), Joseph Macé-Scaron (The Yellow QueenPresses de la Cité) an Aslak Nore (The Heirs of the ArcticThe noise of the World).
Don't miss the round tables, masterclasses, workshops and major interviews to enjoy special moments with your favorite authors. These 1h30 meetings will be an opportunity to interact with personalities from the literary world such as Franz-Olivier Giesbert around his Intimate history of the Vth Republic (Gallimard), Miguel Bonnefoy with The Jaguar's Dream (Editions Payot & Rivages) or Yann Queffélec – guest of honor of the show Party Reading from Roquebrune-Cap-Martin – for The black jellyfish (Calmann-Lévy).
An important place is also given to middle school studentsto whom the opening day will be largely devoted through the writing competition prize and various theater workshops, manga, escape games and other activities around Marcel Pagnol.
