The Contrecœur Volunteer Action Center warmly thanks the donors and volunteers who contributed to the success of its food drive on October 26. The total weight of non-perishable foods collected is within the average for recent years (5,478 pounds). The same goes for monetary donations ($4,730).
The CAB expresses its gratitude to the hundred volunteers who took part in the collection and sorting of the foodstuffs. He particularly highlights the contribution of volunteers from the Contrecœur Fire Department, the Youth Center, the Optimist Club, the Port of Montreal, the Dame de Cœur boutique and the pastoral unit as well as the presence of the Mayor of Contrecoeur, Maud Allaire, and Sarah Leclerc, political attaché to Suzanne Roy, Member of Parliament for Verchères and Minister of Families.
It is always possible to participate in the collective effort by bringing your food to 4956 rue Legendre or to the various drop-off points located throughout the Contrecoeur territory. The CAB can receive monetary donations directly on its website all year round using the online donation form (PayPal). A tax receipt can be given for donations of $25 or more. As for the paid route, it will take place on Thursday, December 5 on rue Saint-Antoine.
