This Tuesday at 5 p.m., the City of Epinal officially launched the 2025 Imaginales Prize for high school students from the Louis Lapicque high school. This event brings together nearly 800 high school students from 23 French establishments, including 19 located in the region, around the same passion: literature.

For this edition, young readers are invited to delve into five literary universes in order to select the next winner of the prize from the following works:

  • Sol by Antonio Da Silva (Le Rouergue)
  • Ruborn, tome 1 – Tyr d’Ariel Holzl (Gulf Stream)
  • Dawn and ice by Hélène P. Mérelle (Milady)
  • Oxcean by Nicolas Michel (Talents Hauts)
  • Emblems, volume 1 – The circle of geographers d’Ina Siel (Mnémos)

Over the next six months, these high school students will have the task of reading, commenting and debating these works, in order to choose which one will win the 2025 Imaginales des lycéens Prize. Next April, delegates from each establishment will meet at the Documentation and of Information from the Louis Lapicque high school for a debate session followed by a vote. This will designate the successor of Livie Morevi and the smugglers of souls by Nathalie Cirac, who was crowned in 2024.

The award ceremony will take place during the Imaginales, the festival of imaginary worlds, scheduled for May 22 to 25, 2025 in Épinal, an unmissable event for fans of fantasy literature and science fiction.

Created in 2005, the Imaginales des Lycéens Prize aims to promote reading among students from second to final year by actively involving them in the choice of books. This educational project allows high school students to develop their critical thinking and share their literary opinions in lively discussions.
