An event to experience as a family with, on the program, nature or creative workshops, exhibitions, shows… to discover on Saturday October 12 and Sunday October 13.

Whether you are a fan of classic novels, thrillers or adventure stories, fans of manga or comic books, fans of the object as such… books have this intoxicating capacity to break our hearts, we seize us with fear or fill us with joy. And above all to open up to others. The Department of Hérault is offering, on Friday 11 (reserved for associations), Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, a new edition of its Livres en scène festival, at the Bayssan estate. Non-exhaustive review of a program that wants to make you think as well as entertain.

1 Creative workshops for young people

Little ones (3 to 5 years old) can try their hand at stenciling with the “Dans mon henhouse” workshop on Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. (Hervé-Di-Rosa space). Or paper folding with “From kirigami to pop-up” (from 7 years old, Saturday and Sunday, at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., at the Workshop Space). Others will sculpt the eraser to create their own stamp (from 8 years old, Saturday, at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.; Sunday, at 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.; Hervé-Di-Rosa space).

And curious little ones will be able to try their hand at cyanotype (photographic process), with the Departmental Archives, try the writing workshop, create badges and magnets, discover the art of film editing or even try their hand at binding.

2 Nature and sport workshops for all

In addition to the sporting activities offered by Hérault Sport, Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., young and old will be able to discover an exhibition on “Bees” or take part in a beekeeping workshop (from 5 years, Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Hall of Mirrors). Without forgetting environmental awareness campaigns with, in particular, “Cousu de fil blanc” which questions our relationship to clothing and retraces the journey of a pair of jeans; “The energy game” or the workshop on sustainable food.

3 Shows and cinema screenings

The Pieds nus dans les nettles company offers “Toucantoco”, a show where little adventurers set off to explore a colorful tropical forest in search of an endangered animal, the Toucantoco (from 3 years old, Saturday, at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., at the Saint-Félix chapel).

Camille Bonicel and Thérèse Tisseyre tell the odyssey of “The Child of the Stars”, adapted from a play by Strindberg (from 7 years old, Sunday, 10:30 a.m.; Saint-Félix chapel). Please note, you must make a reservation for these two shows at 04 67 28 37 32. There will also be “Le Romen de l’estoire by Perceval le Gallois”, by Éric Poirier, a youth film with “Sirocco and the kingdom of Courants d’air”, Les Racontines de Léa or a drawn jazz concert…

4 Exhibitions and a reading room

The festival offers two more exhibitions, over the course of these two days of celebration: “What is cinema?”, to find out everything about the stages of making a film or the creations of the competition Please touch! Finally, the librarians will welcome you to the Reading Room of the departmental media library, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the Hervé-Di-Rosa space.
