The second selections for the 2024 Medici Prize

The jury for the 2024 Medici Prize revealed its second selection on Wednesday October 9. Composed of nine French-speaking novels (compared to 16 in the first selection) and nine foreign novels (compared to 14), it was accompanied by the unveiling of the selection of essays, which includes ten works.

The winners will be crowned on November 6, during an awards ceremony organized at the La Méditerranée restaurant in .

Chaired by Anne F. Garréta, the jury is made up this year of Marianne Alphant, Michel Braudeau, Marie Darrieussecq, Patrick Grainville, Dominique Fernandez, Andreï Makine, Pascale Roze et Alain Veinstein.

Last year, the distinction was awarded, on the French-speaking novel side, to the Quebecois Kevin Lambert pour May our joy remain, published in Nouvel Attila.

Two winners, Lydia Jorge pour Misericordia (Metalized) and Han Kang pour Impossible goodbyes (Grasset) were awarded the foreign novel prize.

The test price for its part came back to Laure Murat pour Proust, roman familial (Robert Laffont).
