Closure of the Paul-Aimé-Paiement Library for a long period

The Paul-Aimé-Paiement Library, located in the Charlesbourg district, will be closed until spring 2025 due to major renovation work.

A text from Marie-Pier Mercier

Citizens have until Tuesday, October 15 to take advantage of the installation, announces the City of Quebec.

This extended closure is necessary due to larger-scale works than planned. This will ensure the safety of library users and staff.writes the City in a press release.

The intensification of the work will make entrances and exits inaccessible to users and library staff, as will the document chute.

The City is therefore setting up a temporary collection point, located at the Charlesbourg Borough Office, intended for the return of documents and reservations from November 11 during the week and on weekends.

Short-term parking will be available nearby.

The City invites citizens to take advantage of the services of other libraries located nearby, namely the Saint-Albert, Étienne-Parent, Gabrielle-Roy and Bon-Pasteur libraries.

Several cultural programming activities planned at the Paul-Aimé-Paiement library will be redeployed in surrounding libraries.

The work is being carried out with the aim of maintaining the integrity and durability of the building while preserving the historic character of the former Marist Brothers college, of which the library is a part.
