Invited to the microphone of the Gossip Room podcast, Rofrane Bambara, revealed in the show Large families: life in XXLrecalled the news of her children’s first diagnosis.

By participating in the docu-reality Large families: life in XXLRofrane Bambara has gained notoriety. But this media popularity, the mother of Kheïry, Chemsy, Hajar and Noor has decided to use it to highlight a subject that is still too taboo for her taste: autism. And if it is so close to her heart, it is because the young woman’s quadruplets are all affected by the disease. As a result, every day is a new fight for Rofrane and her husband. If the couple celebrates each victory, no matter how small, of their children, they also do not hesitate to talk about daily difficulties.

Rofrane Bambara (Large families): How did she react when she was told of the first diagnosis?

While Rofrane regularly discusses her children’s cases on the Web, the young woman does not hesitate to speak out in different media in order to share her story, but above all to raise awareness of autism among as many people as possible. On September 14, she spoke on the podcast of Gossip Room that the mother of the family agreed to come when the first diagnosis was announced, which concerned her little Kheïry.It devastated me even though I was the one who wanted to consult. [un spécialiste] because I noticed he was different. […] It had become concrete. I took a hell of a wave in the head“, she confided. But the former participant of the TF1 show did not remain downcast for long thanks to Nasser!”Right away, my husband told me: ‘Before going to the appointment, it was Kheïry and after the appointment, it’s always Kheïry. We simply told you what he has and now we will be able to accompany him.’” she recalled.

Rofrane Bambara (Large families) admits to having had prejudices about autism

Following this meeting and discussions with her husband, Rofrane decided to find out more about this disease, about which she knew absolutely nothing, apart from a few prejudices.I was scared. I didn’t know what autism was. I had this image of a child who couldn’t speak, who was very violent… For me, it was an inevitability.” she confessed. Before adding: “In fact, I wanted to learn what autism really was. And in the end, I was able to put things in place to support my child and my children afterwards. All of this allowed me to say out loud that it is not inevitable. It is hard, yes. You can’t get over it, yes. But you can live with autism!
