Faulx-Les Tombes: six injured, five seriously, and two children in a head-on accident, large deployment of emergency services

A child airlifted

As soon as the call was made, many emergency services converged on the scene of the disaster. The firefighters from the NAGE zone of the Namur station led by Captain Arnaud Brauwers converged with a fire engine, a beaconing vehicle as well as two ambulances from Andenne, one from Éghezée, one from Ciney and one from the Red Cross as well as the PIT (Paramedical Intervention Team) from Mettet.

The SMUR units from Godinne and Namur as well as the medical helicopter from Bras-sur-Lienne also headed to the scene of the collision.

The on-site report indicated six injured people, five of whom were in a serious condition. One of the children was among them and was airlifted to a hospital in Liège. All the others were dispatched to surrounding clinics.

The police officers from the Arches area, led by the chief of staff, closed the road in both directions and took charge of the findings.

Given the seriousness of the facts, the Namur public prosecutor’s office sent its automobile expert, Pierre Kauffman, to the scene to shed light on the circumstances of this road tragedy.

The tow truck driver Jérôme Loriers, from Courrière, was called in to remove the two unusable vehicles.
