A Moroccan national, installed in France for over 25 years, has failed to win the French nationality Despite various attempts. Reason for refusing his request? “Loyalism” towards France.
According to the media, the desk, which reports the information this week, the Moroccan national, with a residence permit And an employee of a consulate in Morocco in France since 1999, suffered his first refusal of French nationality in 2021. He then files an appeal but the Ministry of the Interior rejected his request for naturalization again.
The applicant then appealed to justice and requests, from the administrative court of Nantes, the cancellation of the decision to rejection of his request for naturalization issued by the Ministry of the Interior.
His request for naturalization refused four times
Alas, justice responds unfavorably to his request in October 2024. The Moroccan national was not discouraged and appealed, but the administrative court maintains his decision and decides to refuse the request of this applicant of French nationality.
The Ministry of the Interior has decided to refuse the request of this Moroccan national because his post as an administrative agent in a consulate in Morocco implied “a particular bond with his country of origin which does not appear compatible with French allegiance”, writes The Desk.
The Nantes administrative court also justified its refusal by “the particular links maintained by the applicant with a state or foreign public authorities, including diplomatic or consular representations in France of the country of origin”, said the same source.
The applicant’s insurance did not convince
French justice therefore points to a lack of loyalty of this Moroccan towards France and it is not the insurance of the applicant who changed things. The Moroccan national said that he was going to leave the Morocco consulate to retire from January 2, 2025.
The applicant also stressed that he only held a post of administrative agent and that he is therefore not one of the diplomatic staff. He also specified that he was recruited on the basis of a French law contract.
All these elements, as well as the fact that he meets all the conditions necessary to win French nationality, however, have not changed the decision of the Ministry of the Interior or that of the Nantes Administrative Court.
