Waltz’s error of judgment exposed the Trump administration to heavy criticism, at a delicate moment. She also disturbed friends and allies of the United States all over the world.

Other errors of judgment continue to be made. Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of Defense, has formed his own signal discussion group to discuss the operation carried out in Yemen with, among other things, friends and relatives. Hegseth aggravated his case by installing signal on his desktop computer, demonstrating by that that he had not learned any lesson from the initial error of Waltz.
Hegseth is familiar with controversies. He was notably criticized for having invited or wanted to invite Elon Musk to the Pentagon in order to inform him of American military plans in the event of a war against China. It is possible that Trump himself had this very unknown meeting canceled at the last minute.
-An outrageously simplistic vision
This episode, which was added to others of the same ilk, led to the departure of five collaborators close to Pete Hegseth, which he had just hired. Hegseth was so embarrassed by leaks in the press which he threatened to pass to the lie detector several high-ranking soldiers, including the acting chief of the joint staff. The term “chaos” is now commonly used to describe what is happening at the head of the Department of Defense.

This inability to guarantee the protection of sensitive information and this lack of rigor in decision -making exemplary illustrate the most serious problems of Trump’s second term. He himself and most of his main advisers do not take the issue of national security sufficiently sufficiently.
