He knows that his daughter is now controlled by an extraterrestrial, such as the crowd of human robots and extraterrestrial beetle that he saw inside the stadium. We can therefore assume that he will try to infiltrate the dome lit by blue light to find out more about the functioning of this mental manipulation. But in the comics of which The Eternal is adapted, her daughter Clara has never been kidnapped by extraterrestrials, so it seems that the creators of the Netflix series make radical changes to the story in order to amplify the issues for Juan Salvo.
The Eternal (Netflix): What is happening in the rest of the story in the comic strip
Clara’s kidnapping and the fact that she does not act like a brainless creature suggests that there is still a little hope for Juan’s daughter. It remains to be seen whether Juan will be able to go back to the root of the problem and find a way to release the conscience of his daughter from the claws of extraterrestrial beings. This would then allow Juan to save his family from the extraterrestrial invasion and take him to a safe place. This is what is happening at the end of the comic strip, when Juan, Elena and Clara, hide in an extraterrestrial spacecraft, where Juan triggers a time machine that projects them into another dimension. But Juan then finds himself in a parallel universe while his family finds himself in another … Now, there are an infinity of continuums, which is why Juan will embark on a pilgrimage over the centuries to find his family.
The Eternal : mysteries to elucidate in season 2 of the Netflix series
One can also imagine that the second season of this series of apocalyptic science fiction should lift the veil a little more on the mystery of Juan’s visions and explain the reasons why he always remembers things from the past and the future. Season 2, which has just been confirmed by Netflix, should also enlighten us more at the exact moment when Juan met the Eternal. Will he be able to break the loop and stop the extraterrestrial invasion? In comics, Juan never succeeds, even if the end of season 1 gives us a glimmer of hope, suggesting that human civilization can still be saved.
