A young woman received a fine of 150 euros, Sunday, April 6, for having transported her green plant to the Paris metro, learned “here Paris Ile-de-France” (ex-France Bleu). The RATP assumed this sanction at first, before finally backtracking. The Verbalized traveler will finally be reimbursed, indicates the RATP to Franceinfo on Tuesday, confirming information from BFMTV.
Sunday afternoon, this young woman, Salomé, was checked at the Republic station with her plant which measures 1.30 meters high. “After several minutes without explanation, I ask what is going on. And there, I am told that transporting a high plant is considered an offense, because it is a bulky”she says. The traveler had regretted the lack of pedagogy of the agent: “She had the cheek to tell us that we only had to take another means of transport next time. Hyper green to have to rent a car to transport a simple plant”complains the young woman. The height of the situation, the controllers had finally authorized Salomé to take the metro with his plant, once the ticket has been regulated.
This story, relayed by the passenger on X, caused a succession of critical reactions on social networks. RATP customer service specifies that the transport of bulky items is prohibited: “The suitcases or various packages must have a maximum dimension of less than 75 cm. The long packages of 2 meters at most, but not measuring more than 20 cm in their other dimensions, are authorized provided that you hold them vertically.”
