We all know the fantasy of a quiet corner, far from everything, to blow between two videoconferences. And, apparently, there is and is called Hut’OP. Launched in 2021 by Bradley, former companion of duty, and a childhood friend, this local project made in Hauts-de-France offers Wooden mini-banes ready to installeasy to climb, pretty like everything and without complicated paperwork. Because yes, with an area of 5 m², no need for a building permit. Discovery.
A cabin that holds in a trunk … or almost
Each Hut’OP hut is designed in the Villeneuve-d’Ascq workshop with sustainable materials: spruce or larch for the structure, ping-pong tables (thank you decathlon) for the roof and a cylinder of cylinders that allows you to open it to sleep under the stars. Just that. The whole is based on Adjustable feet to adapt to all terrainseven those a little wobbly. Safety side, do not panic: locks, hooks and plexiglass windows are there. This little man’s gem can be mounted in two, just two hours. And, like any good self -respecting wood, a small opening from time to time prolongs its lifespan. A tent? No. A cocoon, yes.
Options to personalize everything (and even sunbathe on the terrace)
Bradley and his team have no shortage of ideas to develop their huts. In addition to the basic model, Hut’OP offers (or is about to offer*) a whole range of accessories to improve the experience. Access walking, mosquito nets, privacy curtains or 8 m² terrace to sip coffee in the sun … Everything is thought. Even dry toilets are being design, because autonomy is also it. And, that’s not all: a case with solar panels and battery will soon complete the offer. Ideal for those who want to stay connected without connecting to EDF. And, as if that were not enough, each cabin sold finances the planting of a tree, via a partnership with reforestation.
A poetic shelter or a clever investment?
Since its inception, Hut’OP has already attracted individuals, tourist hosts, retraining farmers and dreamers of all stripes. In Périgord, in Brittany or in Hauts-de-France, the huts grow like mushrooms, but in design and green version. You can sleep there, work, meditate there or sip the aperitif with view. So yes, all this has a cost (it takes several thousand euros depending on the options), but it is also a real investment: to rent, to escape, or to offer yourself a small rustic luxury without concrete.
