At least three people were killed and 11 injured, including children, on Tuesday, May 6, in a Russian ballistic missile strike in the Soumy region in northern Ukraine, local authorities announced.
The Soumy region, a border of Russia, has faced an upsurge in Russian bombing since the Ukrainian forces were hunted in March from the Russian region Koursk, which faced it and of which they have occupied a small part since the summer of 2024.

“According to first information, the enemy has struck civil infrastructure in the Soumy district with a ballistic missile,” said Ukrainian rescue. “Three people died (two died in the hospital, including one child) and eleven were injured, including five children,” they said.

Photographs broadcast by the emergency services showed firefighters turning a fire in a ruined building.
This strike comes when Ukraine launched overnight on Monday to Tuesday more than a hundred drones against Russia, targeting Moscow, an attack that killed a dead.
