The René-Davini sports plain is much sadder this Monday morning. Because even with a fine rain which has continued to fall on the central throughout the finals, the stands were well garnished for the two single finals. Tahlia Kokkinis and Noelia Manta opened the ball for the girls’ final. And after losing a first long and undecided set (6-7), Kokkinis took advantage of the lack of freshness of his opponent, who came from the qualifications. She left much less suspense then by unrolling 6-1, 6-1. “She took over physically. And that’s what she imposed throughout the tournament: her rigor and physical intensity”analysis Laurent Vigne, tournament director.
On the boys side, in a more balanced duel, it was Ceban who won in two sets (6-3, 6-3). The Briton was higher than all plans and took advantage of an opponent “Who has not been able to change and adapt his game to put it in difficulty”says Laurent Vigne.
“It’s much more than a tournament”
Beyond the performance on the court, Laurent Vigne is satisfied that this 25th edition has exceeded the sportsman, in favor of initiatives, “Like Tennis Chair, tennis for young people in neighborhoods … it goes beyond the framework of an international tournament, it’s much more than that”.
Among the striking moments, the opening and fence ceremonies will remain in the spirits, they which have brought back certain memories. Like an air of nostalgia for Paris 2024 which floated on the courts of Istréens: “The young people entered the field with the flags, there were pretty words, a beautiful communion”.
