The Trust GXT Zora box is very modest both in the packaging and content, where in addition to the keyboard, you get a manual (the keyboard works on PC, Xbox and PlayStation) and a USB cable. When a keyboard is of normal size and has commutators and mechanical on the top, the keys themselves occupy a lot of , so to speak. This is also the case with the GXT Zora, which seems quite large on the desk. With its 790 grams, it is not a heavy goods vehicle in the category of mechanical keyboards. On the contrary, it is a relatively low weight and we clearly see where it comes from. Although the GXT Zora has an aluminum frame and an initially robust design, the base (case) itself seems a bit and less costle than the other recently tested keyboards. In fact, the GXT Zora does not give in when you it and fold it. On the contrary, it seems quite solid, so it may be just the slightly lower weight which is deceptive. On the other hand, it is a nice detail that the GXT Zora cable is removable, which allows it to be changed in the event of a damage. The GXT Zora is and that’s it. It is only by removing his caps that we see some white switches, who, among others, are supposed to help RGB that the keyboard can emit to create an atmosphere more easily. The light of the GXT Zora is at least quite lively, so the effects propagate quite well despite the also dark surface of the keyboard. In addition to the USB-C port for the data cable, which is used to connect the keyboard to a computer, there are no other ports or “differences” compared to an ordinary keyboard. On the underside of the GXT Zora, you will however find a small nice detail in the form of the keyboard with feet with two different settings. You can therefore adjust the GXT Zora so that it is completely flat on the desk, slightly tilted or very tilted. The most comfortable angle is undoubtedly the flat angle, but it is good to have this option.

Everything is plug and play with Trust GXT Zora. It does not require any software and works immediately. Even if he has no additional buttons, some shortcuts are hidden behind the FN key. Above, however, there are some of these shortcuts that are not linked to the game, but more oriented towards daily use. So you can’t touches to do different things. However, you can unlock the Windows key so as not to press on it accidentally in the middle of a game. When you activate or deactivate the Windows key locking, it flashes three times in white and then goes to the effect you have chosen for effects. So you don’t know when you have activated this function and if you , you may wonder if it is locked or not. You can also control the lighting effects via the FN keyboard shortcuts, but you choose between the predefined effects of which GXT Zora is equipped in the factory. You can choose the speed of the effects, but you cannot choose other colors than those that are configured. Trust has equipped the GXT Zora with Huano mechanical switches, which in this keyboard are the white and linear switches. This means that there is no click or touch -up when you type or press the keys. They touch the bottom without resistance, so to speak. They are quite solid, but there are also two questions: of all, they produce an incredibly hollow sound when you hit the bottom. You can avoid this avoiding touching the bottom, of course. The next thing is that even if the keys seem fairly firm in their race and offer good resistance in the fingers, it seems to us to be able to feel a little instability in the race at the top of the key. This problem is due to a lack of pre-lubrication on the keys, which gives a slight mechanical movement. However, Trust declares that they expect each touch to last up to fifty million pressure, so you should be really well covered (and there is anti ghosting of course).

VERDICT
The Trust GXT 871 Zora must be taken for what it is. An affordable alternative to slightly larger brands, but where you get solid keys, mechanical switches and a robust design which, hope, will survive many of play. At the same time, you get a design that can light up all the colors of the rainbow, but because of the low price, you must live with keys that also seem a bit worn out your own lighting effects.
