The Haute-Sorne’s deep geothermal site will remain inactive for a few additional days. While the start of hydraulic stimulation tests was planned for the end of April, the promoter Geo Energie Switzerland indicates on his website that this work is delayed due to an administrative stage which requires more time than expected.
The promoter evokes “the submission of the technical file, his examination and his validation by the cantonal authorities. […] Technical planning and meticulous examination of the file by the canton aim to guarantee maximum security of future operations. “
As soon as the file has been validated, a new calendar will be established according to the availability of mandated companies and the equipment required for this work. The start date of the tests will be communicated as soon as possible, we still read.
Hydraulic stimulation tests must make it possible to update risk studies for the main stimulation of the tank as well as to characterize the properties of the rock.
