Because of surcourism, access to Lake Klöntal will be limited three Sundays a year. This is what the Glaronais decided, during their Landsgemeinde on Sunday, reports the “Tages-Anzeiger”. The turquoise body of water is currently taken by storm every weekend by car columns.
From then on, the last Sundays of June, July and August, it will no longer be possible to go there by car. To guarantee access, the public transport offer will still be revised upwards.

In Zermatt too, we want to better regulate ephemeral visitors. In August 2024, SRF announced that the town of Haut-Valais was thinking of establishing a tax of 12 francs for tourists for a day. The amount corresponds to the tourist tax for three nights.
The model would be inspired by the one implemented to Venicewhere tourists pay a 5 -euro note when they go there for a day, since 2024.
Reserve the climb for Lake Oeschinen

Like Lake Klöntal, Lake Oeschinen is the victim of its success. Since the beginning of May, people wishing to visit the mountain lake will have every interest in reserving a place to go on a gondola, SRF revealed.
