3000 lambs died, asphyxiated in the building that housed them, after lightning fell on the site. The storm caused “an electric cut that cut ventilation“confirmed Grégory Allied. 1,000 animals were still saved.
“Everyone is in shock”testifies the director general of the company OVI Central Plateau. This company works with several families of breeders in the department: “Economic damage is very difficult to quantify“He added.
“It is the expertise of insurance that will determine it, but today there is obviously moral damage in the sense that it affects everyone enormously”insisted Grégory Allied. The building affected was modern and active for a few months, recalled the director general of the company, stating that the lambs of Lacaune race, raised on site, were intended for marketing in France.
