A drama occurred Wednesday evening at the PNC Park.
A spectator dropped from the top of the Clemente wall, 6.4 meters high (21 feet), located in a right field, during the match between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs.
The incident occurred just after Andrew McCutchen had struck a double of two points at the end of the seventh round to give the 4-3 advantage to the pirates.
While the attention was turned to McCutchen and his teammates who turned the bases, the scene suddenly frozen: a man had just fallen from the stands on the warning track.
The players of the two teams immediately called for help. The game was interrupted for almost 10 minutes. The medical staff of pirates and cubs, joined by the emergency services of Pittsburgh and stadium staff, intervened in an emergency. On the field, the players kneeling, some praying or visibly in shock. McCutchen, he tightened his cross while the man received first aid. On social networks, a shocking video of the fall quickly circulated.
The victim, who remained motionless on the back after the fall, was stabilized on a backboard before being transported out of the field on a medical cart. Later, Pittsburgh’s public security confirmed that the man had been led by Absolute emergency at the Allegheny General hospital Hospital.
