The 2024 accounts of the City of Geneva display an excess of 9.8 million francs while a deficit of 15.8 million was planned in the budget. After several mirobal years, it is a return to normal.
-‘The accounts are good, but concerns are emerging,’ said Thursday before the press Alfonso Gomez, administrative advisor at the head of the Finance Department (DFEL). The environmental magistrate, which was re -elected on Sunday for a second term, fears in particular the effects of the drop in taxes approved in cantonal voting last November.
‘The balance is as always precarious and the international context concerns us,’ added the administrative advisor. And to quote the reduction of supports to International Geneva and uncertainty linked to American customs taxes which will have implications for the Geneva economy. Mr. Gomez also warned against the package of economy that the Federal Council wants to pass.
