Supporters of SCA were numerous this Saturday May 3, 2025 to encourage their favorite team, for the 19th day of Regional 2. Full stands and a beautiful atmosphere for this meeting against Dunkirk Malo.
A large visitor goalkeeper
An audience that hoped for a victory to allow the SCA to keep all its chances of going up in regional 1.
But that was without counting on the northern goalkeeper who simply saved his team from a defeat. On several occasions, the visitor goalkeeper has rejected Abbevillois shots with effective and saving relaxation.
It all started well for the premises with many decisive actions, especially in the 18 meters and one of them benefited Charles Duvauchelle who scored the first goal of the meeting (1-0) at half an hour of play.
The SCA leads 1-0 at halftime
Abbevilloise domination is constant at the start of the meeting. The Dunkirk goalkeeper redoubles with exploits, congratulated by his teammates. The counterattacks of northerners are being set up. A bell ball bounces on the transverse and the SCA can breathe while preserving its short advance. The half-time is whistled on the 1-0 score.
From the start of the second period, the tone changes. The pressure is now on the northern side. At the time of play, Dunkirk Malo equalizes (1-1) and fifteen minutes from the end, visitors take the advantage on the posting board on penalty.
1-2, it will be the final score and a lot of disappointments in the Abbevillois clan, which are now five points behind the leader Dunkirk USL (2). Nothing is lost for the SCA which will move to Nies-les-Mines on May 11. Then during the 20th day on May 25 in Etaples and then in Outreau on June 1 to finish the season.
Everything is not lost for the climb even if it will be complicated
Abbevillois coach Mathieu Vallois confided after the meeting: “I think we have foiled. There are absent that we cannot fill. Without these boys, we don’t have the team complete enough to win this kind of match. The opponent played the game thoroughly and we do not have a fairly strong workforce. »»
“We have three games left and for me the end of the season will be very long. We will do everything to win the following matches but here we take a big blow on the head. There is still a tiny hope, we will do everything to win these last three games. »»
