The draw for the Afrobasket 2025 is held this Friday, May 9 at 6.30 p.m. Friday, a few months before the start of August 12 to 24 in Angola. Senegal, in search of a first title since 1997, is part of Pot 1, alongside the great Nations of African basketball.
This 31st edition of the African male basketball championship will bring together 16 selections: Angola (host country), Tunisia (reigning champion), Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Senegal, Egypt, South Sudan, Cape Verde, Guinea, Cameroon, Libya, DRC, Mali, Rwanda, Uganda and Madagascar.
Distribution of pots:

Third in the last edition in 2021 in Kigali, the Lions hope to cross a new course and end the long wait. This draw will determine the identity of their direct opponents in the group phase, and will set the tone for an expected campaign.
