The baby’s case on October 2021 at the Madeleine clinic was mentioned in a hearing by the Dakar Criminal Court on Monday, April 14, 2025. The director of the Madeleine clinic, the gynecologist Mahmoud Aidibé, the pediatrician, Hussein Jubaily, the caregiver Adjia Seynabou Diallo and the nurse Madeleine Faye appeared in the special audience at the bar of the Dakar Criminal Court. They responded from the death of a newborn baby in the health structure on October 9, 2021. The victim’s father accused the negligence clinic and said that “the machines were obsolete and were not maintained and that his child felt burned and had burns in the face, body and abdomen”. His advice claimed 200 million for each of the civil parties. The prosecution requested the release of the director of the clinic. He asked that the other defendants be sentenced to 2 years, including 6 months firm and a fine of 300,000 FCFA for each. The defense pleaded the relaxation against the constant denials of the defendants and the lack of expertise to determine the cause of the death.
