The National Division to Combat Migrants Traffic (DNLT) and territorial police stations are continuing their efforts in the fight against irregular emigration and the networks of counterfeiters. Several operations carried out this weekend have enabled major arrests.
National police have announced that they have arrested sixty-three (73) candidates for irregular migration in Mbour, as part of an operation by the National Division of the Trafficking Migrants and Assimilated Practices (DNLT). The intervention was triggered following the operation of information reporting an imminent departure at Pointe Sarène.
Initially, *Two individuals were arrested, before the rest of the group was located and arrested in the Sonatel zone of Mbour. The thread also ended in the seizure of 73 life vests, 60 Ghanaian Cedeao identity cards, 8 passports, a water pump as well as food for travel. These elements suggest an attempt to start by sea, under perilous conditions.
In another press release, the DNLT specifies that these operations are part of an active prevention dynamic against clandestine sectors. It invites the population to report any suspicious activity.
In addition, in Guinaw Rails, two people were arrested for association of criminals, false and use of false on administrative documents, according to another press release from the weekend. These arrests follow an enlarged survey on a large network of recently dismantled counterfeiters.
The search of their homes made it possible to discover twelve passports, one of which is valid, as well as seven visas detached from their original documents, an index revealing the fraud in preparation. The respondents were placed in police custody for the needs of the investigation.
Faced with these facts, the authorities reiterate their commitment to fight against irregular migration and documentary fraud networks, calling for increased citizen vigilance.
