In a few months, Keur Momar Sarr, in the department of Louga, recorded 7 cases of rape. These rapes on girls haunt the sleep of the populations of this town, especially since their author has not been arrested. This is why the populations are agitating the thesis of mystical practices or of the sacrifice by a hitherto unidentified person.
On Monday, April 28, 2025, the young A. Sy, six years old and a student at the toddler’s box in the town of Keur Momar Sarr was raped. The little girl, back from her school, in the company of her little sister, was intercepted by an unknown man who has led her by force in an isolated place, far from the eyes of the populations, to abuse her. The unknown trained her on the edge of the village before raping her brutally. According to the story of Seynabou Gadiaga, mother of the victim attached to the phone, everything happened around 12 hours 30 minutes. The thug was not limited to abusing the girl. With the help of a syringe, he took the victim’s blood before blending into the wild. According to the mother’s account, the victim told her that the thug of which she only kept a strong hair to describe it, probably piqued it a syringe containing a liquid which made him lose consciousness. The agents of the locality health post, because of the state in which the victim was, evacuated him urgently at the Ahmadou Sakhir Mbaye regional hospital in Louga.
After intense care, A. Sy returned to his parents. However, it is won by sorrow and worry. This rape perpetrated on A. Sy is the seventh case recorded in a few months in the locality of Keur Momar Sarr. It is obsession among populations inhabited by concern. Lady Awa Sow testifies that her daughter is part of the long list of victims of these rapes in Keur Momar Sarr. According to her, since then, she can no longer sleep, because the author of these rapes which, until then, is not found, to ulterior intentions. “The author of these acts has hidden motivations,” insists Ms. Sow. Very sensitive to the case of her six -year -old daughter already orphan of father at her young age, Awa Sow remains convinced that the thug acts for mystical reasons. “The author of these rapes which is probably the same person makes mystical practices because, in view of the story made by my daughter, the man has other motivations,” she explains. This position of the mother of one of the victims takes his explanation in the fact that the unknown takes the victim’s blood using a syringe after raping it to make it use of mystical practices.
This conviction of Lady Sow is widely shared by Gora Niang, living in a neighboring village. Member of the monitoring committee set up since the first cases of rape, Gora Niang and her friends work for better security of populations. “According to the overlaps that we have since the first case of rape, we remember that it is the same person who is the author of all the acts recorded in the locality,” said Mr. Niang. Going further, he remains convinced that the author of these rapes which always escapes the vigilance of the populations works in mystical practices and human sacrifice. “This is why all the girls she raped, she took their blood,” he explains. Gora Niang bases his conviction on the targets chosen by the unknown and which, according to him, are almost all of the same age category. Faced with these repetitive rapes, the Keur Momar Sarr watch committee invites people to more vigilance. Better still, he calls them to point out any presence of suspect people to the gendarmerie.
