Dakar, Apr 17 (APS) – The Organizing Committee of the International fair of Agriculture and Animal Resources (FIARA) launched the preparations for the 25e Edition of this event scheduled from April 24 to May 20 in Dakar.
Representatives of the Dakar Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture and Industry (CCIAD) and the National Council for the Concertation and Cooperation of Rurals in Senegal (CNCR) took part in the “Launch day ” of the FIARA 2025, which, according to its general manager, Pope Abdou Fall, is” a regional integration fair for peoples and rural and agricultural economies “.
“Its specificity is that it is designed by and for producers, for the benefit of family farms ” recalled Mr. Fall.
La Fiara, whose first edition took place in 1999, ” is the culmination of twenty-five years of supported practices and reflections ”, said its director general.
The mission of the International Agriculture and Animal Resources Fair is to promote the access of producers and their agricultural information organizations, to commercial, technical and technological innovations, recalled Pope Abdou Fall.
FIARA is used at the same time to improve the conditions of production and marketing of agricultural products, to also facilitate the exchange of experiences and ideas, according to him.
The second edition of the International Fair of Agriculture and Animal Resources (SIARA) will be held from May 13 to 16, within Cices, the International Center for Foreign Trade in Senegal, on the sidelines of the Fiara.
It is in this same center dedicated to international trade that the International Fair of Agriculture and Animal Resources has been organized for several years.
The first editions took place in place of the obelisk.
” The Siara will be an ideal framework for professionals from different sectors and their partners to share their know-how ” said Pope Abdou Fall.
It is used to “propose solutions and relevant approaches by innovations, meetings and discussions around major development issues”.
The role of family operations in agricultural and rural development, improving productivity, production support services and the marketing of agricultural products are the subjects of discussion of Fiara.
The food crisis, consumption, as well as economic, environmental and climatic issues, are discussed during the Fiara debates.
” Food sovereignty: challenges, challenges and perspectives ” is the theme of the 2025 edition.
