The Pacific Nations Cup 2025’s Pacific Nations Male Rugby Men’s Rugby Team, the first opportunity for the team to qualify directly for the 2027 male World Rugby World Cup, against the United States in Calgary on Friday, August 22.
The kick -off will be given at 7 p.m. HR at the McMahon Stadium stadium, the land of the Calgary Stampeders and the Dinos of the University of Calgary. It will be the third game of the team in Alberta this summer, after two games in Edmonton, as well as the second home game between Canada and the United States in 2025, the Canada women’s rugby team facing Eagles in Ottawa.
Tickets will be sold here on May 15 at 10 a.m. Hp / 11 a.m.from $ 38 plus taxes and fresh.
The rugby community of Alberta (and other provinces interested in club trips) will have the opportunity to collect funds for its clubs and attend a group in the match thanks to the Ticket program for clubs. The details, including a special link exclusively reserved for club members, which will give access to tickets in a designated section of the stadium and will donate 15 % of ticket sales to the club, will be communicated to clubs shortly.
It will be the first match of Canada as part of the Pacific Nations CUP 2025. The first three teams of the tournament will qualify for the Rugby World Cup (less Fiji and Japan, which are already qualified). The team ranked last at the end of the tournament will then try to qualify through the South/Pacific final phases.
A new version of the Pacific Nations Cup was launched last year and saw Canada face Japan at the BC stadium Place de Vancouver. The 2025 tournament will be the second iteration of this interregional competition bringing together Canada, the United States, Japan, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa.
The Canada’s male rugby team and the United States clashed for the last time during the Pacific Nations Cup 2024 in Los Angeles last August, the United States having won 28 to 15. Canada faced the United States more often than any other team, and is looking to obtain its first victory against the Americans since 2021. It will also be the first time that the team has been playing in Calgary since 2017, when the male team Canada Rugby played a test match against Georgia.
-“The three games in Alberta this summer are important and exciting for our team,” said the chief coach of the Canada’s male rugby team, Stephen Meehan. We chatted with Canadian players in leagues and competitions all over the world about their current performances and their gaming philosophy, and we worked with them to ensure that they will be well supported. Players were magnificent.
“Calgary is delighted to welcome the Pacific Nations Cup and this very important match in the male team’s journey to the World Cup,” said Calgary mayor Jyoti Gondek. Nothing attracts the crowd as much as the Canada / United States matches, and I know that the Calgary Ovalie community and all those who will go to Calgary for the match will make sure that the atmosphere is thunderous. Fill the McMahon Stadium stadium with red and white and give the team an additional boost! »»
