Romain Maillot, coach of the French women’s rugby team in XIII, returns to the last rally.
The last rally of the French women’s rugby team in XIII was marked by the arrival of Pierre Bonhomme as a new manager. Its integration was done naturally, quickly finding its place in both the staff and the group. The internship started with an original activity: an initiation to para rugby XIII with the Toulouse club, which I would like to thank for its commitment and its support. This experience, rich in lessons, has highlighted many similarities with our discipline and has made it possible to create a very positive collective dynamic from the start of the internship.
On the sporting level, this gathering was an opportunity to detect several promising young players, strengthening the pool of talents for the future. The work focused on the defense of in-goal line and the attack in the last 10 meters, with specific workshops for struggle and bodybuilding. The internship was also enriched by the visit of Laurent Frayssinous, who came to strengthen the link with the club France by sharing his experience and his vision.
If the general level continues to progress, it is advisable to once again salute the total commitment of the players throughout the internship, a reflection of their motivation and their involvement. However, it remains essential that they continue and intensify their individual work in a club, in particular to refine their technical quality, still perfectible at this level of requirement.
