There was talk of energy sovereignty, complementarity, local energy and fish on Friday in the Communal room of Colelex-Bossy, in the Geneva countryside. It was there, not far from the Richelian power station on the Versoix, that the general assembly of Swiss Small Hydro (SSH) was held, the association which defends the interests of the operators of small hydraulic installations.
The mini-barrages have assets to assert in a context of energy and geopolitical crises, even if their electricity intake is less than other sources of energy. “The small hydraulics contributes to the supply of electricity, regularly, especially in winter. It makes the prices of the kilowatt hour accessible and in a renewable manner, “said the national councilor and president of the SSH, Benjamin Rodd, during the meeting.
