The weekly report published on May 8, 2025 by the external agricultural service of the United States Department of Agriculture (DAEU), covering the period from April 25 to May 1, 2025, indicates a net reduction of 7,600 metric tonnes in the sales of soybean cakes intended in Morocco for the 2024/2025 commercial campaign.
This contraction is one of the main weekly decreases recorded in this segment, alongside Panama (7,000 tonnes), unpertified destinations (4,200 tonnes), El Salvador (500 tonnes) and Belgium (100 tonnes).
No other American agricultural product-neither cereals, nor legumes, nor meat products, nor animal by-products-was sent to Morocco during the reference period, according to official registers. No retroactive adjustment has been mentioned in connection with the Moroccan market.
Soybean cakes, from grinding seeds after extraction of oil, constitute one of the essential inputs for animal feed in industrial farms. The drop in Moroccan purchases could translate a punctual slowdown in imports in this segment or a refocusing on alternative suppliers.
The report does not provide additional indication for any future orders or the prospects for the 2025/2026 campaign.
