The investigation carried out by a Toulouse investigating judge continues after the deadly brawl occurring Sunday, May 4 at the exit of the Cristal nightclub in Albi. A man had been found by the emergency services around 3:30 am on the ground, struck with a machete. He did not survive his injuries.

Four people aged 18 to 38 had been arrested the same day following the investigations carried out by the Albi co-Saisine police station with the organized crime division of the Toulouse DIPJ, which were able to exploit the video surveillance images.

The identified victim
When the emergency services and the police arrived at the scene of the drama, the victim had no identity document or driving license. Only a car key was found in one of its pockets, which the investigators connected to a car from Tunisia, without immediately allowing formal identification.
Since then, thanks to various testimonies, an identity has emerged. It turns out that man would be of Tunisian nationality, undocumented and homeless, according to a police source. His exact age is not known. He would have loved ones living in Albigensians.
The victim presented at least two stabbing wounds, said the Albi prosecutor’s office on the day of the facts, before the Toulouse criminal center was seized. According to our information, it is a machete stroke carried at the back of the skull and another in the thigh. An autopsy must be carried out.
A story of jealousy?
The drama occurred Sunday morning at the end of an evening spent at the crystal, a nightclub along the avenue Gambetta, at the entrance to Albi.
