For 23 years, the Questembert children’s book fair has appointed children, young people, their families for a weekend. School mediations, workshops, meetings, dedications, with fifteen signing guests on the stands of the four booksellers: six authors, nine illustrators.
The show is co -organized with Questembert Community. “Despite the budgetary difficulties, we managed to maintain the school sessions and the book check for € 10 for 2,400 children from the territory, from the small section to CM2,” explains Bernard Chauvin, vice-president of Questembert Community, responsible for culture. He said: “We were able to maintain this budget and activities thanks to the partnership of the municipalities. We claimed € 2 per inhabitant via shared skills. Twelve out of thirteen municipalities have participated ”.
Two -stroke
It is an event in two stages, with first, school mediations on May 15 and 16 with the guest authors and illustrators (90 school interventions) and the youth book fair under the Halles on May 17 and 18.
-On the program: Wednesday, May 14, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May: ten workshops in media libraries led by illustrators (free, on registration).
“Two highlights are organized around comics and manga for teenagers and adults,” explains Emmanuelle Olivier, director of the media library: on Saturday May 17, at 5 p.m., a live-free meeting with Stephan Fert, designer and scriptwriter of comics; And on Sunday at 3 p.m., the big novelty of this show, the presentation of the Manga Komorebi price around the four earth, water, air, fire elements.
