The “dinosaur”, as the inhabitants of Morges call it, will resuscitate. Or rather to offer a second youth. Indeed, this Monday, the Morges Journal announced that the referendum committee which is opposed to the renovation-transformation project of the Eaux-Mineral skating rink in the four-season sports complex had failed to obtain the number of signatures required. And even quite widely, since 647 signatures were harvested – not validated – while 1722 were necessary.
In early March, the municipal council validated the project presented by the municipality which is based on a public-private partnership contract. Accepted by 54 votes for, 32 against and 8 abstentions, this sports investment amounts to 24.3 million francs over thirty years, the payment of an annuity of 810,000 francs per year. But this amount is not solely devoted to board sports. It will also make it possible to transform part of the site during the summer season while permanently welcoming a climbing wall as well as spaces reserved for fencing, martial arts and boxing.
