Miscellaneous facts. A septuagenarian suffered serious injuries on Tuesday afternoon in Saint-Bonaventure, after a tree fell on the cabin of the machinery he operated. He was transported to hospital.
The accident occurred while the victim carried out deforestation work on land located at the intersection of road 143 and 6e Rang.
“We received the call around 2 p.m.. The victim was to be deforested and the tree would have given way and came across the equipment, “said the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, Laurie Avoine.
Quickly, the first respondents and firefighters of the municipality converged on the place of the accident. The sappers of Saint-Germain-de-Grantham had been requested for a highlight, but their presence was ultimately not required. They stabilized the victim before the paramedics arrived.
-The worker was transported to the Sainte-Croix hospital center, under police escort, where he was quickly taken care of.
“Right now, these are injuries considered serious,” added the spokesperson.
Witnesses will be met by the authorities to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Traffic on road 143 has been carried out alternately until the emergency services do their work.
