President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday the death of three hostages held by Hamas in Gaza; There would therefore only be still 21 still alive.
“To date, there are 21, three have died,” said Trump about the hostages held by Hamas, specifying that there were recently 24 people considered alive. He did not specify the identity of the deemed deceased, nor how he had learned their death. “There are 21, more bodies,” added Trump.
An American, Edan Alexander, was among the 24 allegedly alleged hostages; The bodies of several other Americans were also detained by Hamas after its attack on October 7, 2023 against Israel.
The President’s statements come as the Hebrew State approved its plans on Monday aimed at seizing the Gaza Strip and occupying the Palestinian territory for an indefinite period, in order to recover the hostages and try to achieve its objective of war: to destroy Hamas. If this measure was implemented, it would considerably expand Israeli operations in this country and would likely arouse strong international opposition.
