The human network (REDHO), a human rights organization based in Butembo (North Kivu), documented 12 murders for April alone in this city. His coordinator, Muhindo Wasinywa, expresses his concern in the face of the increase in insecurity in Butembo and its surroundings.

Among these 12 murders, two are popular justice, while the other ten victims were killed in various ways. Among the people killed in particular is Madame Masika Kyalima Anuaurite, assistant secretary of the ASBL Kyaghanda Yira.

In addition to these 12 cases, four other people lost their lives, including two in a land landslide and two by drowning.

Faced with the magnitude of crime in the region, the Redho calls for security services to redouble their efforts to protect populations and their property. The organization also insists on the need for judicial bodies to serious investigations in order to legalize the perpetrators of these crimes, in accordance with Congolese legislation.
