Back with coach Thomas Seité on the solid performance of the Bagnérais in Sarlat who offered them 4 points ahead (12 to 16) before the return to François Cazenave.
Thomas Seité, what do you think made the difference?
We showed character and we knew how to rely on our defense and our selflessness. That is to say that we made the round back while trying not to be too unruly even if, at times, it was the case. In any case, in terms of character, it was a lesson in courage because we spent the last 40 minutes with us.
In this context, can we talk about hold-up? In the sense that you come to them once and mark.
We knew that we were going to undergo the wrath of Sarlat for 20 or 30 minutes because it is a very dense team which masters its rugby on the basics, in particular, of collision. We had to face even if they managed to hurt us. Yes, at halftime, we manage to come back against the logic but we knew that on the length we would still have the keys to come to annoy them. I am not saying to win but in any case, we knew we were going to oppose a proud performance.
With perhaps a special mention for forwards?
Yes, we put the match in the right direction thanks to the fray and all the defense phases. A big thank you to the pack of forwards.
You have formed a small 4 -point mattress before receiving.
Yes, now we will attack another preparation to receive Sarlat at home. It’s always very special moments this kind of round-trip match that must be managed over the length. We will have to expect a reaction from them and we will do everything to maneuver in front.
