This Thursday, May 1, 2025 Afternoon, the Hérault firefighters intervene urgently on a traffic accident involving two motorcycles. The accident occurred on the departmental road 25, near the town of Saint-Maurice-Navacelles, on the Larzac plateau, north of the department. The emergency services mention a very high speed shock.
From the alert call, the Samu helicopter was engaged. The first assessment reported two injured, but the emergency services then counted three victims. The departmental route 25 has been fully closed to traffic to allow rescuers to intervene safely.
Three victims, including a seriously injured
The first motorcycle was carrying a 69 -year -old man and a 68 -year -old woman. The pilot has a left leg fracture. The firefighters evacuated it by a rescue ambulance to the emergency room of the Lapeyronie hospital in Montpellier. Her passenger suffers from severe trauma to the left leg. Its state required an absolute emergency evacuation by helicopter. A third victim, a 62 -year -old man, was traveling on the second motorcycle. He is under transport to the hospital center. The exact circumstances of the accident remain to be determined. The gendarmes of the Lodève company opened an investigation.
