The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) is investigating in the districts of Saint-Laurent and Lasalle following three criminal fires that occurred very early on Monday.
At this point, the SPVM is unable to say if these events, which have occurred in an interval of an hour and a half, are linked to each other. In the three cases, there were no injuries and no one had to be evacuated.
The first of these fires broke out shortly before three in the morning in a residence for sale, unoccupied and in renovation of the O’Brien boulevard, near rue Cléroux in Saint-Laurent. The 911 received a call for this purpose at 2:50 a.m.
According to initial information from SPVMa suspect tried to set fire to the house garage door, smashed the windows of the facade and made graffiti. The individual fled on foot and is wanted by the police.
A witness was questioned by the police in relation to this case. Damage to the house is minimal and incendiary equipment has been found on the scene.

Two also targeted shops
Later, two businesses located a few meters away on Dollard avenue, in the Lasalle borough, were the fire target, a few minutes apart. The first of these shops is located near Chartrand Street and the second, near Lithuania Street.
Suspects would have arrived on a vehicle to set fire to these shops. As in the case of the mischief in Saint-Laurent, windows were shattered.
Specialists in fire scenes from SPVM will try on Monday to advance surveys related to these three criminal fires.
