The development of new electronic communication tools has contributed to profoundly transforming work relations. Most employees are now regularly connected and achieved almost permanently, regardless of the place they are. Thus, temporal beaches dedicated to work can always be confused with those intended for rest with a significant risk of damage to the health and privacy of employees.
While a European directive project on the right to disconnect is in preparation, several European states, including Belgium, France or Portugal, adopted national rules with various content (for example, prohibition to contact employees during rest or obligation for social partners to negotiate the conditions of the right to disconnection).
