In total, around fifteen firefighters from barracks 72 were deployed. “Upon our arrival, the garage was in general conflagration. The flames on the grass had managed to go to the house that was starting to set fire. Our action was first to cool the residence to protect it, “said Director Boucher.
Subsequently, the sappers undertook the extinction of the flames which consumed the garage. This building was destroyed. As for the house, only the external coating has undergone certain damage.
The intervention lasted around 2:30. At around 4:30 p.m., the firefighters left the premises.
The director of the SSIRIA wishes to recall the citizens to be cautious during this period of the year when the soil comes dry, becoming conducive to brush fires. To make a burning, a fire permit is required, says Éric Boucher. “But in this period, we allow less and less,” he notes.
