The Englishman Owen Jenner, 21, and the New Zealander Shane Richardson, 29, died this Monday, May 5, 2025, during a race in the British Supersport championship. The incident, involving 11 pilots, occurred from the start of the competition while motorcycles came out of their first turn.
If the two men were first treated on the edge of the track, the first city died of a major head injury despite the resuscitation care that was provided to him. The New Zealander, injured in the chest, would have died before arriving at the hospital.
An open investigation
In a press release published this Motorsport Vision Racing, the operations manager of the Oulton Park circuit on Monday evening, said that another driver, Tom Tunstall, had also undergone “Important injuries” on the back and the abdomen. The other pilots involved were all treated for minor injuries.

An investigation was opened by the organizers in order to know the circumstances of the incident. A time interrupted, the competition was then canceled.
