The Moroccan National tourism Office (ONMT) is continuing its opening strategy on the high potential tourism markets. Indeed, the Office begins the procedure for granting the prestigious “China Ready” label, which would be a first for a destination in North Africa and a strong signal addressed to tourism professionals in China, it said in a press release.
Delivered by the approved Cbisn agency, ONMT partner in Beijing, this internationally recognized label attests that Morocco responds to the reception, communication and offer standards adapted to Chinese customers, adds the same source.
Thanks to this label, which opens the way to an intensification of tourist flows from China, the ONMT wants to make the kingdom a “friendly” destination adapted to specific standards and expectations of the Chinese market, one of the most dynamic and demanding in the world.
Cited in the press release, Achraf Fayda, ONMT managing director, said: “This label is much more than just certification, it is a passport to a market of more than 150 million passenger tourists each year, with strong purchasing power and growing curiosity for cultural destinations. Morocco now has all the assets to seduce this clientele ”.
Obtaining the label is subject to an audit of the destination with an assessment of infrastructure, services and tourist offers to identify the necessary adaptations.
At the same time, operators’ training is necessary. It is in this sense that a “China Ready” workshop-seminar was held on May 7 in Rabat, to raise awareness among Moroccan operators about the realities of this market and integrate them into this ambitious dynamic.
-This seminar, led by a Cbisn expert, gave access to a 12 -month strategic watch to support Moroccan professionals in their skills.
The next phase of the program provides for the organization in Morocco of a large B2B event, which will bring together around sixty influential Chinese agencies, with the aim of making solid commercial partnerships concretize with Moroccan tourism players.
Morocco will then have to comply with the implementation of adapted services such as the translation of Mandarin supports, the acceptance of Chinese means of payment and the presence of Mandarin speaking staff.
This process aims to guarantee a fluid and reassuring experience for Chinese travelers, while strengthening the competitiveness of certified destinations on this strategic market.
By launching this process to obtain this label, the ONMT aims to triple the number of Chinese tourists by 2027, based on reinforced partnerships with the operators, airlines and Chinese online booking platforms.
The Office thus continues its strategy of anticipation and structuring of international demand, placing Morocco in a proactive and competitive dynamic capable of a diversification of tourist flows, a rise in the national supply, and consolidation of its positioning as a reference destination on the global spectrum.
