In a speech read in her name by the Director of Cooperation and Communication at the Ministry, Rima Lablaili, within the framework of the of the 4th World on Environmental Law, organized by the World Commission for Environmental Law under the International for Nature Conservation (IUCN), under the theme “Integrated legal protection of air, sea and land”, the Minister indicated that these Domains as varied as biodiversity, water resources, waste management, air pollution and the fight against climate .

He noted that his department places these questions among his priorities, through the support of the consolidation of the national legislative framework, the strengthening of the capacities of legal actors and active cooperation with the national and international institutions concerned.

Mr. Ouahbi noted, in this regard, that far from being a legislative choice or luxury, the protection of the environment is now set up in a legal, ethical and political requirement, “dictated by our responsibility towards the present and future generations”.

Evoking a “shared concern”, he considered that environmental issues seem to gradually lose their place in international political priorities, even though “the planet has never needed us so much”.

“There can be lasting peace on an exhausted planet, or development in a distress environment,” he insisted, adding that ’s participation in this event is a precious opportunity to exchange good practices, draw inspiration from innovative experiences and assert the position of the kingdom as an engaged, united and resolutely turned actor.

It is fully part of the clairvoyant vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who has erected environmental and climatic issues to the rank of national priority, he stressed.

Keeping at the International Hassan II Center for Environmental Training, this high -level meeting brings together a wide range of legal and environmental experts, researchers, government representatives as well as international and regional organizations, in order to strengthen the international legal framework for environmental protection in the face of increasingly urgent climatic challenges.

The work of the conference, which spread over three days, revolve around a scientific , including panels, workshops and high -level plenary sessions, tackling in particular “international law of ocean protection and atmosphere”, “the integration of climate justice in public policies”, “the fundamental links between human and the environment” and ” global ecological “.
