While they were to return to Bergamo airport, Italy, aboard an airplane from the Ryanair company, eight citizens of the commune of San Daniele del Friuli had to spend long hours inside the device without taking off, under stifling heat, without ventilation and without any explanation of the crew. After more than three hours of waiting, passengers were asked to get off the plane, but they were not allowed to stay inside the airport, and were then surprised by the cancellation of the flight without a new date being communicated, reports the Italian press.
This situation caused a state of chaos and confusion among the passengers. In the process, the display screens indicated that the flight had been definitively canceled. Some other flights were normally resumed. The cancellation of the flight is due to the vast power cut that hit Spain, Portugal and certain parts of France on April 28. This cut caused a temporary paralysis of air traffic, including flights from Marrakech airport.

After cancellation of the flight, the passengers were transferred to a nearby hotel. They were promised a new reservation for a flight the next day. A promise that will not be held. The two families received a notification indicating that the nearest alternative flight would be on May 6, an entire week after the initial date of the flight. Without alternative, some passengers had to turn to the Italian consulate.
Others have decided to act individually. They managed to reserve a new flight at their own expense for May 1ᵉʳ, with a stopover in London and a total duration of 24 hours, including additional nights at the hotel they had to pay themselves. Arrived in Italy, they deplored the way in which Ryanair managed the crisis their holidays, which according to them, transformed into “a trying and inhuman experience”
