According to the American specialized site Travel & Tour The world (TTW), these record figures place tourism at the top of the revenue sources of the kingdom, in front of the automobile, chemistry, food, information technologies and hydrocarbons. The trip of travel improved by 1.5 % in annual sliding, with a surplus of more than 17.62 billion dirhams. As for travel expenses, they reached 7 billion dirhams during the period, which represents an increase of 4.8 % compared to the previous year. Data that reveals an increase in the purchasing power of visitors, notes the same source.
At the end of March 2025, some 4 million tourists visited Morocco, a significant increase of 22 % compared to the same period of 2024. A progression which, according to Travel & Tour The World (TTW), is explained by the massive return of the Moroccans of the diaspora, the opening of new destinations, and the improvement of air accessibility (new roads, increase in frequencies, low-cost). Likewise, improving tourist infrastructure, including airports and hotels, as well as digital marketing campaigns and cultural events, have strengthened the attractiveness of the kingdom.

Added to this are the transfers of Moroccans residing abroad (MRE) which established themselves at 26.22 billion dirhams at the end of March 2025, recording a slight decrease compared to the same period last year when they had reached 27.96 billion. This boom in Moroccan tourism testifies to the total resumption of the sector after the COVVI-19 crisis and will have positive effects on local employment, hotel, catering, transport and guide services. Also, it will impact sectors such as real estate and retail.
To maintain the growth of tourism, the government and the players in the sector are betting on sustainability. This involves strengthening measures aimed at protecting the environment, enhancing natural and cultural heritage. With its tourism potential (heritage, beaches, mountains, culture), Morocco stands out as an essential destination on a global scale.
