SElon local sources contacted by Alyaoum24the individual first attacked a merchant in the neighborhood, whose goods he destroyed, before causing a fire in his home. The victim, a recently operated cardiac man, was saved in extremis by residents who have managed to control the flames despite the risk of explosion.
He was transported urgently to the provincial hospital Mohammed V to receive the necessary care. The material damage is considerable, the flames having completely ravaged the interior of the house.
The attacker fled and entrenched himself in the house of his deceased parents, where he lived alone. Quickly surrounded by the police, he was arrested under close surveillance.
Witnesses to the neighborhood, including a close relative, claim that the young man has been sowing terror for months: verbal and physical assaults, theft and erratic behavior. If some residents believe that he really suffers from mental disorders – evoking in particular that he sometimes feeds in the trash cans – others question this version, seeing a strategy to escape his responsibilities.
Residents are now asking authorities to intervene to guarantee their security.
